Client relationships are at the core of our services. We build these relationships through educating clients about the purpose of estate planning, sharing different planning options, and guiding them through difficult planning decisions. Above all, we help clients understand the purpose behind their paperwork so they find peace of mind in knowing they have a plan that meets their values and goals.
For the family who finds themselves in need of a standalone Last Will & Testament, Deed, Power of Attorney, or other related documents.
Piecemeal planning offers shorter-term, time-sensitive, or budget-friendly options for families who may not yet be ready for comprehensive planning.
Whatever is prepared at this level can serve as the starting point for future planning.
For the family who wants
assurance their minor children are well cared for no matter what, their health care wishes turned into directives, & their loved ones have access to their assets if they become incapacitated.
This level of planning offers peace of mind of knowing family legacies will be transferred to beneficiaries with the most ease and convenience possible in the privacy of an attorney's office without probate court involvement.
Documents include a Revocable Living Trust, a Will, Healthcare Directives, Powers of Attorney, & a "Påtgon Protection Plan" for minors.
For the family who wants
increased peace of mind knowing your beneficiary’s inheritance is protected.
Probate prevention is valuable but often results in leaving assets outright, in the "pockets" of your beneficiaries.
This level of planning offers added protection from spendthrifts, creditors, lawsuits, divorce, addiction behavior, estate taxes, etc.
It also offers options for protection of minors or time for financial maturity of young adults.
You can expect hours of face time with Attorney Mendiola and a lot of education about the estate planning process and how it affects you and your family.
We offer planning packages to meet your current planning and budgetary needs and a three-part service delivery system to keep things on track.
We will meet to discuss your family dynamics, goals and concerns; review your assets; compare planning costs to your status quo; decide how you'd want to move forward; and choose your fees and planning package. We'll then design your plan based on your desired goals.
In our document review session, we will review your plan design and plan documents, highlight your priority concerns, answer pending questions, prepare you to sign your plan documents, and if needed, set up a plan to move your assets into your trust.
You'll sign your documents before a notary and two witnesses, which we can help you to arrange or you can arrange with your preferred notary.
We then prepare and deliver your final plan portfolio; review letters to the individuals you've identified in your planning, if desired; and review and discuss asset transfer or beneficiary update instructions to ensure your plan works the way you intend.
